Tennis courts in Kallithea

Kallithea does not do book-a-court-and-play: tennis here is an organised programme of the Sports Directorate, on the outdoor municipal courts at Σαλαμίνος 50, with classes from age 6 up to advanced adults and lessons running late into the evening. Registration is entirely online. The trick is timing: places fill within a few days, and the fee waivers that apply at the gyms do not apply to tennis.

How to book a municipal court — Sports Directorate (Διεύθυνση Άθλησης) of the Municipality of Kallithea

  1. 1Watch the municipality's website for the announcement that registration for the tennis classes has opened: it happens in phases, in September and January, and closes as soon as the places are filled, with priority for registered residents.
  2. 2Open an account on the municipality's Demos365 platform, confirm your email and submit an application online. Registration in person is not possible.
  3. 3Upload to your profile a medical certificate (ιατρική βεβαίωση), a family status certificate (πιστοποιητικό οικογενειακής κατάστασης) and proof of residence. Applications with incomplete or expired documents are rejected.
  4. 4Pay the fee into the municipality's bank account stating your full name, ΑΦΜ (tax number) and the programme, and upload the deposit slip to the platform. Avoid paying from an ATM.
  5. 5Collect your membership card (κάρτα μέλους) and leave it with the coach at every lesson: without a valid card you are not allowed onto the court.

Price
Adult registered residents and residents in the tennis classes €50, university students €35. Non-residents: adults €100, children and students €50. The fee waiver that applies to other sports does not apply to the tennis programme.

Opening hours
Tennis classes on the outdoor municipal courts at Σαλαμίνος 50: mornings 09:00-11:00 and afternoons 17:00-23:00, Mon-Fri. Each session is 55 minutes for adults and 50 for children.

What is not published
  • — The municipality publishes no procedure or price for free use of a court outside the organised programme.
  • — The limit of three people per court and the older timetable come from a 2020 announcement about pandemic measures and have not been confirmed since.
  • — No tennis court was found published at the Πάρκο Αθλητισμού και Αναψυχής (Sports and Recreation Park) at Τζιτζιφιές: the current list of sports sites gives only the outdoor courts at Σαλαμίνος 50.
